Less than a week remains to sign up for a housing lottery for 23 available units at The Doria, located at 34-16 38th St. in Astoria.
The 9-story residential building features 89 total housing units, with 66 being at market rate. Eight of the 23 units set aside in the housing lottery are for those earning 40% of the area median income and with an asset limit of $67,840. Another four are for those earning $60% of the area median income and with an asset limit of $101,760. The last 11 are for those earning 80% of the area median income and with an asset limit of $135,680.
All eight apartments at 40% of the area median income are two-bedroom units, which are each capable of housing up to five people. The monthly rent is $1,069 and the annual household income must range from $50,229-$73,280.
All four apartments at 60% of the area median income are also two-bedroom units. These units cost $1,798 a month in rent and call for an annual household income of $75,223-$109,920.
Nine of the apartments at 80% of the area median income are one-bedroom units. Up to three people can reside in one of these units, as long as they combine to earn $83,452-$122,160 a year. Rent is $2,182 a month.
The last two apartments at 80% of the area median income are two-bedroom units, which cost $2,527 a month in rent. The annual household income must add up to $100,218-$146,560.
Each unit at The Doria features washers, dryers, dishwashers, energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, intercommunication devices, high-end kitchen appliances, countertops and finishes and online options for leasing, paying rent and making maintenance requests. Residents are allowed to have one pet per unit, as long as it weighs less than 25 pounds. Tenants will be responsible for electricity, including the stove, hot water and heat.
Other amenities available to residents of The Doria include covered parking garages, a gym, a yoga/dance studio, a lounge and outdoor areas with barbecue grills and a prep kitchen, a business center, co-working space, common area WiFi, security cameras, elevators and accessible entrances. There is also a dog park nearby. Smoking is not allowed inside The Doria.


The property is within close proximity to the Steinway Street, 36th Street and 46th Avenue subway stations, which provide service for the M and R trains, and the 36th Avenue, 39th Avenue and Broadway subway stations, which provide service for the N and W trains. There are also bus stops in the area for the Q18, Q63, Q66, Q101, Q102 and Q104 lines.
