The draw for Saturday, October 25 faced a delay
The latest Lotto draw, with a quadruple jackpot of £10.5m, has been stopped after a technical fault with the operator behind the live draw apologising for the delay.
The National Lottery’s Lotto and Thunderball draws usually take place live on Saturday night via the official website, but ticketholders hoping for a win witnessed the Lotto draw cut short on Saturday, October 25.
The Lotto draw livestream started at the usual time of 8pm but after five numbers were drawn the stream was halted. The first five numbers drawn were: 4, 9, 28, 40, 42, 59. The stream was stopped before the Bonus Ball was drawn.
A message on the screen stated: “Due to a technical fault we cannot stream this live draw. Please check National-Lottery.co.uk later for the draw results.”
The Thunderball results were broadcast, however, around 20 minutes late at 8.35pm. The Thunderball winning numbers were: 9, 11, 13, 28, 34 and the Thunderball was 13.
The National Lottery operator, Allwyn, has released a statement on the incident, stating that the draw will be run again, hopefully later this evening.
They said: “Due to the bonus ball not dropping during tonight’s Lotto draw, we have paused the draw. It will resume as soon as possible with an alternative draw machine and under the supervision of an independent adjudicator.
We expect to complete tonight’s Lotto draw and publish the verified results on national-lottery.co.uk later this evening and apologise for the delay.”
Tonight there is a quadruple rollover with £10.5m up for grabs on tonight’s Lotto draw. The jackpot for tonight’s Thunderball draw is £500,000.
