Irish Lotto player just one number off €5m jackpot but still wins big

One Irish Lotto player narrowly missed out on the €5,170,829 jackpot on Wednesday, April 1 losing by just one number.

The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s Irish Lotto draw are in. And while there was no outright winner of the €5,170,829 jackpot, the draw delivered a heart stopping twist for one player who came agonisingly close.

Missing out by just a single numbers, the player still scooped a consolation prize of €37,292 for matching five of the six main numbers, plus the bonus.

Beyond the €37,292 prize, the rest of the main draw offered more modest wins. 12 players who matched five numbers without the bonus snagged prizes of €1,863 each.

The Lotto Plus 1 jackpot of €1 million also went unclaimed, with the highest prize being €500 for 13 lucky players who matched five numbers.

Similarly the Lotto Plus 2 jackpot of €250,000 saw no winner, but 10 players will get €250 each for matching five numbers.

Meanwhile, the Irish Lotto Raffle awarded €500 to 56 winners.

These are among over 65,000 players across Ireland who won prizes in Wednesday night’s draw. National Lottery officials are appealing for everyone to check their numbers carefully.

A spokesperson said: “There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot. In total, over 65,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws including one winner of the Match 5 + Bonus prize of €37,292.”

Main Lotto draw – 8, 16, 26, 32, 40, 45 and bonus 39.

Lotto Plus 1 – 6, 7, 16, 33, 36, 40 and bonus 27.

Lotto Plus 2 – 5, 6, 18, 21, 37, 42 and bonus 3.

Winning Raffle number – 5071.
