Five week warning for North East Euromillions player to claim £1 million prize

A ticket bought in Hartlepool matched a UK Millionaire Maker code in the Euromillions draw on March 13, 2026, automatically securing £1 million.

But nearly five months later, nobody has come forward to claim their prize.

National Lottery operator Allwyn is urging players to check old tickets, with the winner having until September 9 to contact The National Lottery with their ticket.

Should the deadline pass without a valid claim, the unclaimed prize money will be redirected to National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

To help track down missing winners, lottery officials reveal the area where an unclaimed ticket was purchased once a prize has remained outstanding for around two weeks.

However, the exact retailer is not disclosed, helping to protect the winner’s identity if they eventually come forward and prefer to remain anonymous.

Anyone holding the winning ticket must first complete the validation process before the prize can be paid out. Successful winners are then given the choice of whether they wish to go public.

National Lottery prizes can be claimed for up to 180 days from the date of the draw, after which any unclaimed winnings are lost.
