A EuroMillions ticket bought in the Hartlepool area on 13 March 2026 holds a £1m unclaimed prize
Lottery players are being urged to dig out their old tickets, with just four weeks remaining for a North East ticket-holder to claim a £1m prize. The windfall is yet to be collected from a EuroMillions ticket purchased in Hartlepool.
The ticket, bought in the Unitary Authority of Hartlepool area on March 13, 2026, carried the winning Millionaire Maker code JLZG97793. However, the lucky ticket-holder has only until September 9, 2026 to come forward and claim their prize.
The EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker is designed to produce a millionaire in every draw, but the EuroMillions draw on Friday 13 March proved to be a particularly remarkable one, with 13 Millionaire Maker winners created. Yet one of those winners has still not come forward.
Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “We’re urgently seeking our missing millionaire and asking players to double check their tickets. Did you play our special Friday 13 March EuroMillions draw?”.
“Think back to what you were doing in March. Talk to your family, friends, colleagues – anyone you think might have bought a ticket in the lead up to the 13 March draw could very well be the winner we’re looking for.”, reports Chronicle Live.
“Do you live in the Hartlepool area or were you passing through? Someone who bought a ticket in Hartlepool is now a millionaire and it’s our mission to unite them with their winnings, but time is ticking.”
Should no winner come forward before the deadline, the prize money, along with any interest accrued, will be directed towards National Lottery-funded projects throughout the UK. Players have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim any prize from National Lottery draws.
Those with any questions, or who believe they hold a winning ticket for any National Lottery draw within the 180-day window, should ring the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or send an email to help@national-lottery.co.uk.
Every week, players contribute to generating approximately £33m for National Lottery-funded projects.
Having raised more than £53bn for good causes since its inception, the funding supports hundreds of projects in every postcode across the UK. Whether backing the arts and sport, empowering local community groups, or preserving cherished British landmarks, players’ involvement makes a tangible difference each and every day.
Players can get in touch with Allwyn by calling the National Lottery Line during normal operating hours. Alternatively, an email can be sent to Allwyn confirming the intention to claim, however this must be received at help@national-lottery.co. uk no later than midnight on the final day of the 180-day claim period, with the claim subsequently made in person.
Full details on how to claim can be found in the Game Rules and Procedures.
