Retired teacher scoops £120k in lottery win

The winner, a woman in her 70s, landed £10,000 a month for a year through the National Lottery’s Set For Life draw on Monday, March 30, 2026, after buying a Lucky Dip ticket.
She has so far used her funds to book a holiday abroad and is considering home renovations with her winnings.
The winner said: “This is so unexpected, what a great surprise.
“This win will make life a lot easier.”
The win came from a ‘straightforward, everyday purchase.’
Liz Styles, winners’ advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “A quick pop into the local shop for a Lucky Dip and £10,000 a month for a year to follow, we love to see it.

National Lottery players can purchase and check their tickets online via the National Lottery app or website and will receive an email notification if they win.
Tickets can also be checked in retail stores or by scanning them on the app.
The National Lottery highlights that playing is about more than just personal winnings.
Each week, players help generate around £33 million for National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.
Since its launch, the National Lottery has raised more than £53 billion for good causes, supporting communities in every postcode area.
Funding goes toward arts and sport, community organisations, and preserving landmarks, helping to make a difference in people’s lives throughout the country.
The win underscores not only the joy of a jackpot but also the wider impact of the lottery in supporting UK communities.
