Only days left for lotto winner to claim life-changing prize

Lotto players are being urged to search their homes for a missing ticket as time runs out for a life-changing prize to be claimed.

The ticket was sold at Gatton Plaza News Agency, west of Ipswich in Queensland, almost seven years ago and will expire on July 6th if not claimed.

Drawn in July, 2019, the winning numbers were 15, 18, 23, 30, 41 and 44, with supplementary numbers 1 and 5.

It’s one of 12 unclaimed major lottery prizes across Australia, with a combined total of $154 million up for grabs.

The Lott’s Matt Hart said the time to claim varies for each state, making it crucial for ticket holders to act quickly.

He urged lottery players to register their tickets to the Lott Members Club to avoid missing out on prizes.

“Register your tickets when you buy them. That means I would have given you a call, you would have been screaming with delight, and you’d have that money in your bank account by now,” Hart said.

A ticket purchased at Victoria Point in Queensland is also set to expire later this month.

The most recent unclaimed prize is a $40 million Powerball win from last Thursday in the ACT.

Ticketholders can check if they’re winners by scanning their ticket online, manually checking the numbers, or visiting their local outlet.

Hart said several people have come forward this year hundreds of days after winning, including one man who only found his ticket after his wife gave him a new wallet.

“He only cleaned out his wallet because his wife gifted him a new one. One of those once-in-a-decade events when men get a new wallet,” Hart said.
