Ohio Lottery winner in Cleveland claims $10 million prize from Millionaire For Life game: See how much they’re getting after taxes

Weeks after the Ohio Lottery announced that one very lucky winner hit the Millionaire For Life jackpot in the April 27 drawing, the prize has now been claimed by a trust.

“The winner chose the one-time cash payment option of $10 million,” according to a press release from the Ohio Lottery. “After mandatory 26.75% federal and state taxes, the trust will receive $7,325,000.”

This was the first Millionaire For Life jackpot winner since the new multi-state lottery game launched in February.

Ohio Lottery officials say the winning ticket was purchased from the Giant Eagle at 15325 Edgecliff Ave. in Cleveland.

The lucky numbers that night were 4, 15, 19, 21, 41. The Millionaire Ball was 4.

Millionaire For Life is offered in 30 states, plus Washington, D.C. Tickets are $5 each with drawings held nightly at 11:15 p.m.

So what can you win by playing Millionaire For Life? Here’s a list of all the prizes up for grabs and the odds of winning:

  • $1 million a year for life (matching all five white balls with the Millionaire Ball): Odds listed at 1 in 22,910,580

  • $100,000 a year for life (matching five white balls): Odds listed at 1 in 5,727,645

  • $7,500 prize (matching four white balls and the Millionaire Ball): Odds listed at 1 in 86,455.02

  • $500 prize (Matching four white balls): Odds listed at 1 in 21,613.75

  • $250 prize (Matching three white balls and the Millionaire Ball): Odds listed at 1 in 1,662.60

  • $50 prize (Matching three white balls): Odds listed at 1 in 415.65

  • $25 prize (Matching two white balls and the Millionaire Ball): Odds listed at 1 in 97.80

  • $8 prize (matching two white balls): Odds listed at 1 in 24.45

  • $8 prize (matching one white ball and the Millionaire Ball): Odds listed at 1 in 15.65

The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are listed at 1 in 8.46.

“Players who win the top two prize levels may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, with guaranteed payments for 20 years, or as a one-time cash payment,” according to the game’s site.
