Powerball jackpot climbs after no winner; Mega Millions hits $800 million

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The Powerball jackpot is climbing again after no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing.

The winning numbers drawn Monday, July 27, were 6, 26, 46, 58 and 65. The red Powerball was 25, and the Power Play multiplier was 2X.

No ticket won the estimated $638 million grand prize, and no tickets matched all five white balls to win either the $1 million prize or the $2 million Power Play prize. Fourteen tickets matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000, while three Power Play tickets won $100,000.

The jackpot now rises to an estimated $663 million for the next drawing Wednesday, July 29. The winner could choose an estimated $290.4 million cash option before taxes.

Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2, and the odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2 million.

Lottery players will not have to wait until Wednesday for another chance at a massive jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot is estimated at $800 million for Tuesday night’s drawing, with an estimated cash option of $344.2 million. The drawing will be held at 11 p.m. Eastern Time. The prize ranks as the 10th-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

No ticket matched all six numbers in the previous Mega Millions drawing Friday, July 24. The winning numbers were 2, 5, 42, 44 and 60, with a gold Mega Ball of 1.

More than 500,000 tickets won prizes during Friday’s drawing, totaling nearly $10.1 million nationwide. Thirteen tickets matched four white balls and the Mega Ball, including three winning tickets sold in Florida.

The Mega Millions jackpot has not been won since a ticket sold in Ohio claimed a $60 million prize on March 17. Tickets cost $5 and include a randomly assigned multiplier. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 290.5 million.
