New grandparents win £400,000 on lottery – this is what they will do with cash

Sharon Healy, 56, from Gosport, won the life-changing sum in the People’s Postcode Lottery after her postcode, PO12 1GB, was drawn in the £1m Millionaire Street prize.
The naval worker on HMS Sultan won double the £200,000 prize after buying two tickets for the prize draw.

After seeing her first cheque Sharon said: “Oh my God! Oh my God! We can do anything now.”
She added after receiving her second: “We can do double anything!
“I really don’t know what I’m going to do. Mum is crying her eyes out. I’m absolutely shell-shocked.”
Referring to being presented the cheques by People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson, Sharon said: “Before you arrived, every time I thought about it my heart was going through my chest and throat. But it is exciting, very exciting.
“You don’t ever think it will be you, but I’m so glad it is. To win this sort of money is brilliant, and to learn that it is tax free is even better.”
Her partner Chris Smith, 55, said: “One cheque was a surprise, but to get two was mind numbing.”
The win also brought good news for Hampshire charities, with a £60,000 boost going to Veterans Outreach Support, something close to the heart of former Warrant Officer Chris.
Chris said: “Any veterans charity support is very worthwhile, especially with what is going on right now.
“There are a lot of veterans who are depending on that support.”
Other charities in Gosport also received funding with Oarsome Chance a charity which provides support for children with special educational needs receiving £80,000.
Despite winning the tax free cash Sharon added: “I like shopping and I like handbags, but I wouldn’t pay £1,000 for a handbag.”
Sharon now plans to visit her daughter Lauren in Wales and treat her new granddaughter, two-week-old Maeve.
She said: “I’ve got a two-week-old granddaughter. I’m going to Wales where my daughter lives with her partner on Monday and I’m sure she’ll be getting spoiled.”
Sharon and Chris will be going on a family holiday to Turkey later this year but do not have any other big wish list plans.
