N.J. lottery player wins $100,000 a year for life with $5 ticket

A New Jersey lottery player who bought a Millionaire for Life ticket for the drawing on May 29 won $100,000 a year for life.

The lucky $5 ticket was sold at the Woodlane Pharmacy at 18 Throckmorton Lane in Old Bridge, according to New Jersey Lottery officials.

The game offers two lifetime prize tiers for players. The top prize pays $1 million a year for life, while the second-tier prize pays $100,000 a year for life.

To win the $1 million jackpot, players must match five numbers between 1 and 58 plus one Millionaire Ball number between 1 and 5. To win the $100,000-a-year-for-life prize, players must match the first five numbers.

For the May 29 drawing, the winning numbers were: 09, 25, 33, 35, 42 and 02. The Millionaire Ball number was 02.

Millionaire for Life has daily drawings. Since the game launched on Feb. 22, 2026, five players have won $100,000 a year for life, while two players have won $1,000,000 a year for life.

Winners at both levels can choose between receiving annual annuity payments and taking a one-time lump-sum payment.

A single top-prize winner who selects the cash option receives $18 million. If between two and 20 winning tickets are sold, the $18 million is divided equally among winners.

The second prize level offers a lump sum of $2.2 million, subject to prize liability limitations.

Annuity winners receive their prize shares annually for either their lifetime or a guaranteed 20-year term, whichever period is longer, according to official game rules.
