Megabucks Jackpot Sits At Record-Breaking $22.5 Million | WBZ NewsRadio 1030

METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — After there was no winner Saturday, another drawing will be held Monday night for the largest jackpot in the history of the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Megabucks game. The jackpot now sits at $22.5 million, rising an estimated quarter million dollars from Saturday’s drawing.

The Massachusetts State Lottery announced last week, before the July 4 drawing, that the game’s previous jackpot record of $21.7 million, set in 1985.

Megabucks tickets are $2 each, and the drawing will be held at 9 p.m. on Monday.

Meantime, the Lottery is holding a “Red, White, and Win” promotion that gives a free “$1 Mass Cash Quic Pic when you buy $6 or more on any single Draw Game ticket (The Numbers Game, Mass Cash, Megabucks, Powerball, Mega Millions, Millionaire for Life),” according to the Lottery’s website.

Lucky Ted’s Stateline Mobile in Methuen is running the promotion.

“It will automatically spit you out free Mass Cash,” cashier Audrea said. “And then it does the little song, just like you won something because you won a free ticket.”

“Red, White and Win” began on Monday, July 6 and goes through Sunday, July 26 for Massachusetts players.
