- The world’s biggest rolling jackpot game, Powerball, has finally arrived in the UK with a staggering £300 million opening prize.
- The American lottery phenomenon offers eye-watering jackpots that have previously reached over $1 billion stateside. The phrase ‘life-changing’ doesn’t even come close to describing the potential winnings.
- UK players must buy tickets by 11:55pm on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday for the next draw. The draws take place in the early hours of Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with the first UK draw set for Thursday, July 23 at around 4am.
- Playing is simple – choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Players can opt for a Lucky Dip where numbers are picked at random, with tickets costing £4 per line.
- The odds of winning the jackpot are a daunting 1 in 292 million, according to the operator. However, players have a 1 in 14 chance of winning something, with guaranteed prizes including £1 million for matching five main numbers.
- Winners won’t receive their prize all at once – Powerball winnings are paid out in 30 annual instalments. If multiple winners match all numbers across participating countries, the jackpot will be split between them.
