A trip to Publix led to one Broward County lottery player landing a nearly $25,000 slice of a jackpot prize.
Five tickets matched a combination of five numbers to win the top prize in the Saturday night evening Fantasy 5 drawing, according to Florida Lottery results.
The Broward County ticket was sold at the Publix Super Market at Glade Crossing at 2465 Glades Circle in Weston.
The player chose their own combination of numbers rather than let the lottery terminal pick and walked away with one fifth of the roughly $121,044 prize, which amounts to $24,209.
The winning numbers in the July 25 late drawing were 2-10-16-18-28.
Three of the other lucky tickets were sold at a Cumberland Farms in the Florida Panhandle, and one came from Brevard County.
The latest windfall extends the recent hot streak of lottery wins in Broward, with other jackpot tickets sold this month in Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Pompano Beach, Lauderdale Lakes and Hollywood.
Fantasy 5 drawings happen twice a day. Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
