Cutchogue trust claims $3M Mega Millions prize on multiplied ticket

A Cutchogue trust has claimed a huge Mega Millions prize after a multiplier turned a $1 million second-prize ticket into a $3 million windfall, the New York Lottery announced.

The Latte Heritage Trust of Cutchogue claimed the prize from the Nov. 11, 2025, drawing, matching the first five numbers — 10, 13, 40, 42 and 47 — only missing the Mega Ball.

A second-prize match typically pays $1 million, but a 3X Multiplier randomly assigned to the ticket at purchase automatically tripled the payout.

The winning ticket was purchased at NOFO Beer & Smoke, located at 55 Middle Road in Mattituck.

The trust received a lump-sum payment of $1,953,001 after required withholdings, lottery officials said.

The use of a trust to claim lottery winnings is a legal strategy that allows winners to shield their personal identities. New York state law requires public disclosure of lottery prizes over $5,000, but winners may claim through a trust or LLC to limit the personal information made public.
