Craigantlet hall awarded £20,000 lottery grant – County Down Spectator

CRAIGANTLET Orange Hall has been awarded £20,000 through the National Lottery Awards for All programme.

Welcoming the news, North Down MLA Stephen Dunne said the funding would be used to make the hall warmer, safer and more energy-efficient for those who use it.

Mr Dunne said: “This is a fantastic boost for Craigantlet Orange Hall and for the many people who rely on this important rural community facility.

“I warmly welcome this £20,000 investment through the National Lottery Awards for All programme, which will enable significant improvements to be made to the building.

“Craigantlet Orange Hall is much more than a meeting place. It is an active community hub at the heart of the rural Craigantlet area and is home to King George VI Memorial LOL 1973, other neighbouring lodges.”

Mr Dunne continued: “The hall is regularly used for local Young Farmers’ Club events, church services, birthday parties, dance classes, concerts and much more. The hall plays an important role in bringing local people together and providing a venue for community events and activities throughout the year.

“I was very pleased to work closely with the lodge alongside my colleague Keith Buchanan MLA in support of this successful funding application. I want to pay tribute to everyone involved for their dedication and commitment in securing this welcome investment.

“Community halls are invaluable assets, particularly in our rural communities where they provide an important focal point for local people.”

He concluded: “This funding will help safeguard the future of Craigantlet Orange Hall and ensure it remains a welcoming and sustainable facility for generations to come.

“I also want to thank the National Lottery Awards for All programme for its continued commitment to supporting grassroots community projects across Northern Ireland.”
