Connecticut Powerball player wins $100K prize as jackpot climbs to $416M

A Powerball player in Connecticut won a $100,000 prize in Saturday’s drawing, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The winning numbers were 17, 38, 46, 50 and 69, with Powerball, 20. Nobody won the jackpot Saturday, so the top prize in Monday’s drawing is $416 million, with a cash value of $186.6 million, according to the lottery.

In Connecticut, winning “draw game” tickets (Powerball, Mega Millions, Classic Lotto, Lucky for Life, Super Draw, Cash5 and Play3 and Play4) must be claimed within 180 days from the date of the drawing. Winning tickets that total $50,000 or larger must be claimed in person at Connecticut Lottery’s headquarters in Wallingford.

Powerball drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. EST and are broadcast live on Powerball’s “Watch the Drawing” page. A Powerball ticket costs $2, and players can purchase a Power Play feature for an additional $1 per wager, which can multiply prizes by up to 10 times, according to the Connecticut Lottery Powerball page.

Players in Connecticut must make wagers by 10 p.m. to be considered in a drawing occurring the same night, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
