CT resident wins $100K from Powerball as Illinois player wins 8th-largest jackpot in game history

A Powerball player from Illinois hit the jackpot in Wednesday night’s drawing.

The player matched all six numbers drawn on Wednesday to win a $1.040 billion jackpot, with a cash value of $450.5 million. The winning numbers for Wednesday’s Powerball were 4-26-66-67-69 and a Powerball of 9. The Power Play multiplier was 2.

The Connecticut resident initially won $50,000, and $50,000 was added to their winnings due to a Power Play. The odds of winning were one in over 913,000, according to the Powerball odds page.

There were 38,100 winning Powerball tickets sold in Connecticut on Wednesday, according to Connecticut Lottery.

Powerball drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. EST and are broadcast live on Powerball’s “Watch the Drawing” page. A Powerball ticket costs $2, and players can purchase a Power Play feature for an additional $1 per wager, which can multiply prizes by up to 10 times, according to the Connecticut Lottery Powerball page.
