The lucky winner, who is in his 60s, now plans to live comfortably in a new home and support his granddaughter through her studies after winning the seven-figure prize.
A bricklayer from Aberdeenshire is set to build a brighter future after winning £1,000,000 on The National Lottery EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw.
The lucky winner, who is in his 60s, bought his ticket in retail and plays EuroMillions because he loves the chance of its bigger prizes.
The winner now plans to buy a house and live comfortably, as well as helping his granddaughter with her studies.
Speaking on his win, he said: “I’m speechless, the whole family stood around looking at the ticket in shock!
“I’ve always played EuroMillions because I fancied those bigger prizes, but I never thought it would actually happen to me.
“Now we can buy a house, live comfortably, and I can help my granddaughter with her studies, it means the world to be able to do that for her.”
Lynn Devlin, Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the Aberdeenshire prize winner, saying: “Congratulations to our lucky Aberdeenshire winner.
“What a wonderful win for him and his family and how lovely that he plans to support his granddaughter’s studies. We wish them all the very best for the future!”
