£1m lottery ticket found: Aberdeenshire winner comes forward after appeal

A mystery £1million Lotto winner has now come forward to claim their prize after an appeal was launched in Aberdeenshire.

The lucky ticket-holder bought their ticket on Saturday, August 8, and matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball in the draw.

It’s been a good month for Lotto winners, with 20 new millionaires created, taking the total number during 2026 so far to 120.

Lynn Devlin from Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery, said: “It must be extraordinary to discover you’re a millionaire and start what promises to be a life-changing journey.

“We’re excited to support these winners as they begin the next chapter of their lives.”
