One lucky lottery player scored big after buying a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket in the Boise area, according to lottery officials.
The ticket matched four of the white balls and the gold Mega Ball in the drawing on Friday, July 24, to score $10,000, according to the Idaho Lottery.
The lottery player used a multiplier to triple their winnings, bringing the grand total to $30,000.

Where was winning lottery ticket sold in Ada County?
Ada County resident Heather Easterday purchased her winning Mega Millions ticket at a Stinker Stores gas station at 6658 South Federal Way in Boise, according to David Workman, an Idaho Lottery spokesperson.
Easterday collected her winnings on Wednesday, July 28, Workman told the Idaho Statesman via email.
According to Workman, Easterday and her husband own and operate a construction paving company.
The couple typically only take one vacation per year, the lottery spokesperson said, “but now, after winning $30,000, they’ll be able to take two trips.”
What were the winning Mega Millions numbers?
The winning numbers for the July 24 Mega Millions drawing were 2, 5, 42, 44 and 60 and with a Mega Ball of 1, according to the Idaho Lottery.
What is the current Mega Millions jackpot?
Although an Idaho Mega Millions player won on July 24, an out-of-state lottery player took the Mega Millions jackpot a few days later.
On Tuesday, July 28, a Florida resident won the biggest Mega Millions prize of 2026 so far, The Miami Herald reported, scoring more than $800 million.
As of Thursday, July 30, the Mega Millions jackpot was at $50 million, with a cash option of $21.5 million.
When is the next Mega Millions drawing?
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 9 p.m.
The next drawing is at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 31.
How to play Mega Millions lottery game
You only need $5 to purchase a Mega Millions lottery ticket, according to the Idaho Lottery website.
When the ticket prints, it will be designated with a random multiplier of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10. Multipliers only increase non-jackpot wins.
As you purchase your ticket, you’ll need to select five numbers between 1 and 70 as well as a Mega Ball number between 1 and 24.
“If you’d like random numbers, ask for a quick pick,” the Idaho Lottery said. “Multi-draw tickets can be produced for up to 10 consecutive draws.”
The overall odds of winning a prize from Mega Millions are one in 23.

If you’re the next bigger winner, stop by your local Idaho Lottery retailer to claim your prize.
According to the Idaho Lottery website, if you are not an Idaho resident, then you will need to either mail in a claim or visit the Idaho Lottery headquarters to receive your check.
The Idaho Lottery headquarters is at 1199 West Shoreline Lane, Suite 100, in Boise.
“All prizes must be claimed within 180 days from the draw date,” lottery officials said.
