Saturday update

Players of the National Lottery have been urged to check their tickets after two ticket-holders matched the six main numbers to share the £3.8 million jackpot in Saturday’s Lotto draw.

The winning ticket-holders will take home £1.9 million each after they matched the six main Lotto numbers.

The bonus ball was 40, which another ticket-holder matched with five of the main numbers to bag £1 million.

Wednesday’s jackpot is now an estimated £2 million.

No Thunderball players won the £500,000 top prize by matching the five numbers plus the Thunderball, but two bagged £5,000 each after they matched the five main numbers.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, operator of the National Lottery, said: “Wow, what a wonderful night of winning it’s been for Lotto players as two ticket-holders have shared tonight’s £3.8 million jackpot prize – just in time for Christmas!

“Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are one of tonight’s lucky winners.”

It costs £2 per ticket to play the Lotto.

You can buy a ticket throughout the week, but on draw days – Saturday and Wednesday – until 7.30pm.

And if you want more games to play, there is also EuroMillions every Tuesday and Friday and the Set for Life game on Mondays and Thursdays.

While the Thunderball draw takes place every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with a £500,000 top prize.

Playing the lottery also raises millions of pounds for good causes.
