Winning $800 million lottery ticket sold in Bradenton

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – One Bradenton lottery player is waking up to a life-changing surprise after Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing.

The sole winning ticket for the estimated $800 million jackpot was sold at a Wawa in Bradenton, according to the Florida Lottery. The Quick Pick ticket matched all five white-ball numbers: 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70, along with the Mega Ball 12.

The ticket was purchased at the Wawa located at 14510 State Road 70 East.

The winner has 180 days from the July 28 drawing to claim the prize. Anyone choosing the one-time cash option must claim it within 60 days. The estimated cash value is $344.2 million.

“We are thrilled to congratulate Florida’s newest Mega Millions jackpot winner on this incredible, life-changing moment,” Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald Dixon said. “This win is an exciting reminder that every ticket carries the possibility of a dream come true.”

The prize must be claimed at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee because it exceeds $1 million and includes an annual-payment option.

Since joining Mega Millions in 2013, the game has generated more than $1 billion for education and awarded more than $1 billion in prizes to more than 87 million players, the lottery said.
