Winner Doing the Lambeth Walk with a Lotto Million – London Post

A man from Lambeth won £1M on The National Lottery Lotto draw on Wednesday 20 May 2026, matching five Main Numbers and the Bonus Ball after buying his ticket in-store.
The winner, in his 60s, has played each week since the game’s inception, always buying Lucky Dip tickets in the hope that he might one day win big.
Speaking on his dream come true, he said: “I am so happy and so relieved that I now have financial security. I’m planning to buy a new property and to help the family out.”
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the Lambeth-based prize winner, saying, “We are thrilled to see a long-term player rewarded for their dedication not only to playing the game, but to supporting great causes. Enjoy the house hunting!”
Lotto has changed. Every £2 Lotto line now gives players two chances to win, all for the same price and with the same number of balls to choose from. The changes will create hundreds more millionaires each year (expected to go from around 140 a year to approximately 345), with players’ chances of winning any prize improving from 1 in 9.3 to 1 in 4.9. And that’s not all, this Saturday’s Lotto draw (4th July)) includes a special raffle with a guaranteed 10 Lotto millionaires made. As well as making more millionaires and more prize winners, even more money is now raised for Good Causes across the UK.
Playing any National Lottery game is more than just a chance to win; it’s a way to contribute to something much bigger. Each week, players help generate around £33M for National Lottery-funded projects. With over £53BN raised for Good Causes since launch, this funds hundreds of projects in every postcode area across the UK. From supporting the arts and sport sectors, to empowering local community groups and preserving iconic British landmarks, players’ participation makes a difference every single day.
