The Banner are seeking a second win after seeing off Waterford in round one while the Treaty lost out to Cork last weekend
Clare and Limerick lock horns in round three of the Munster SHC this afternoon in what could prove to be a pivotal game for both these teams.
The Banner defeated their rivals in the Munster series last season, but their prospect of progressing to the knockout stages had already gone by that point.
A win this afternoon would be a huge boost for Brian Lohan’s men while also delivering a serious dent in Limerick’s hopes.
Indeed, John Kiely is already without two key men with Aaron Gillane sidelined with a calf injury and another former Hurler of the Year out suspended following Cian Lynch’s red card last weekend.
That narrow loss to Cork means Limerick can ill-afford to suffer another defeat this afternoon.
