On Tuesday, Smith went to lottery headquarters in Raleigh to claim his prize. Given the choice of an annuity of $50,000 for 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000, he took the latter, and after required tax withholdings, took home $432,063.
The 50X The Cash game debuted in January with 12 top prizes of $1 million. Ten of those $1 million prizes remain to be claimed.
