Unclaimed Mega Millions ticket sold in Ohio worth $60 million
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio Lottery players might want to check their pockets — someone who bought a ticket in the Buckeye State is now a multimillionaire.
A lucky Mega Millions ticket sold in Ohio on St. Patrick’s Day is worth $60 million. The Ohio Lottery announced in a news release that the auto-pick ticket was purchased at Tyler’s Short Stop, inside a Sunoco gas station at 714 E. Main St. in Van Wert.
The winning numbers for the Tuesday, March 17, drawing were 4-11-18-38-50, and the Mega Ball was 24, according to the lottery.

The lottery gives the ticket-holder 180 days to claim the prize, until Sept. 13. If the money remains unclaimed, Ohio will get back its share of the jackpot, which will go into the education fund.
Two options are available to receive the winnings. The winner can take the cash option of $27.1 million or collect the full $60 million as an annuity paid over 30 years.
The last time a jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in Ohio was on April 18, 2025, just after Mega Millions officials announced an overhaul of the game’s structure. The $112 million ticket was sold at a Giant Eagle in South Euclid.
The lottery noted that Ohio has had 22 Mega Millions jackpot winners and 65 second-tier winners of $1 million or more, since joining the multi-state game in May 2002. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.
