Three Londoners win millions in string of lottery jackpots

Each winner landed a separate jackpot from the Set For Life, Lotto, and EuroMillions draws, with plans to use the money to support family, buy homes, and travel.

One winner, a carer and father of two, landed the top Set For Life prize of £10,000 per month for 30 years in the March 30 draw.

He said: “I am totally lost for words, to be honest.

“It’s a mix of feelings, a literal emotional rollercoaster, a beautiful feeling.

“I’m looking forward to enjoying more time with my family.”

The second winner, from Southwark, matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto draw on April 22, pocketing £1 million.

The grandfather, who buys a Lucky Dip every week, said: “When I found out I had won, I thought I was dreaming.

“I did think that it would happen to me one day, though.

“I try and lead my life in a good way, and I believe that if you are a giver, then positive things happen to you.”

A man in his 40s from Wimbledon was the third winner, also taking home £1 million after matching the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker code in the May 1 draw.

He said: “I didn’t know what reeling meant until that moment – I’m still reeling.

“It is such a surprise and I am so grateful.”

The Wimbledon winner now plans to buy his own home, send his mother on a cruise, and is considering a convertible for the summer.

Kathy Garrett, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery, said: “What wonderful news for our all our winners.

“We hope you all enjoy your wins in style!”

National Lottery tickets can be purchased and checked online through the National Lottery app or website, or in retail stores.

Online players are automatically notified of any wins, and retail tickets can be scanned using the app.

Beyond life-changing prizes, every National Lottery ticket helps support community projects across the UK.

Each week, players generate around £33 million for National Lottery-funded projects, which have raised over £53 billion for Good Causes since the lottery’s launch.

These funds support the arts, sport, heritage, and a wide range of community groups and initiatives.

From next month, changes are being introduced to the Lotto game that will create even more winners.

Every £2 Lotto line will soon give players two chances to win, while the price and number selection will remain the same.

The changes are expected to substantially boost the number of millionaires, increasing from around 140 per year to approximately 345.

The odds of winning any prize will also improve, shifting from one in 9.3 to one in 4.9.

This is expected to raise even more funds for good causes across the UK.

The carer who won Set For Life said he bought his ticket believing Easter might bring him luck.

The Southwark bus driver plans to use his win to help his son buy a house, while the Wimbledon winner intends to buy his own home, pay for his mum to go on a cruise, and may even buy a fun convertible for the summer.

The National Lottery continues to change lives across the UK, not only by delivering substantial prizes, but also by funding projects that make a lasting impact in communities.

From creative arts projects and grassroots sports teams to heritage conservation and community services, every ticket contributes to a shared national legacy.
