The huge Greater Manchester EuroMillions prize that is still unclaimed

On Tuesday night it was confirmed a lucky player had scooped £181m in the EuroMillions draw. But there’s a ticket holder in Greater Manchester who is yet to claim their own prize

Winning the National Lottery or the EuroMillions draw is a dream for many people.

Matching the right numbers offers a chance to win a life-changing sum of money, with EuroMillions prizes often reaching into astronomical nine-figure sums.

One such prize was won in the UK on Tuesday, March 10, with a ticket purchased in the country matching all five main numbers and two lucky stars to scoop an incredible £181m jackpot.

National Lottery operator Allwyn has not yet revealed details of where in the country that ticket – which has won the player the third biggest lottery jackpot ever won in the UK was purchased.

However, one ticket purchased in Greater Manchester earlier this year also won a player a significant sum of money, and still remains unclaimed.

That EuroMillions ticket, which is worth a not insignificant £124,067, was purchased in the Wigan area for the January 2 draw.

The lucky (or not so lucky depending on whether they manage to claim it in time) player matched the five main numbers and one of the two lucky stars. The winning numbers for the draw were 8, 27, 42, 44 and 46 and the Lucky Stars were 1 and 10.

As of March 10, the prize is listed as unclaimed and the clock is ticking away for them to come forward and claim it.

The winner of the ticket purchased in Wigan has until July 1 to come forward.

That prize is not even the largest that remains unclaimed in the UK.

Someone in Bexley in Greater London won more than £10m in the Lotto draw in October. That person has until April to come forward to get their hands on that life-changing fortune.

Two other winners, one in Gloucestershire and the other in Dorset, are each sitting on £1m prizes.
