Texas Lottery player wins $26.75 million Lotto Texas jackpot

A lucky Texan has won over $25 million in the Texas Lottery. 

A jackpot-winning ticket worth an estimated annuitized $26.75 million for the Lotto Texas drawing held on Aug. 10 was purchased at Murphy USA 5695, located at 1803 N. Velasco St., in Angleton. The winning Quick Pick ticket matched all six of the numbers drawn (15-16-25-28-38-53).  

According to the Texas Lottery, the cash value option was selected at the time of purchase and the claimant will receive $14,303,717.61 before taxes.  

The prize has not yet been claimed. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim the prize. The retailer that sold the jackpot-winning ticket may be eligible for a $25,000 bonus under the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program. 

The winning Lotto Texas jackpot started as an advertised $5 million prize for the drawing on April 22 and stretched 48 drawings before being hit on Monday evening. In addition to the jackpot winning prize, 42,663 Lotto Texas tickets, including those with the Extra! add-on feature, won lower-tier prizes ranging from $2 to $14,327 for the same drawing.  

The jackpot for the next Lotto Texas drawing on Wednesday, Aug. 12 resets to an estimated annuitized $5 million. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT.
