RTE Lottery 2026 Results Announced: Merit List Now Live on Official Website – The Live Nagpur

The Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Pune, has announced the Right to Education (RTE) Admission Lottery Result 2026 on Monday, April 6, for admissions to 25% reserved seats in private schools across the state. Students selected in the draw can now proceed with the admission process.

This year saw intense competition, with 2,89,498 applications received for 1,14,826 seats across 8,701 schools—nearly twice the number of available seats. Pune recorded the highest number of applications at 54,684, followed by Nagpur (25,397), Thane (25,021) and Nashik (17,542).

The RTE admission process began on January 9 and was initially scheduled to conclude by March 31. However, a High Court ruling scrapped the earlier condition restricting school selection within a 1-km radius of the student’s residence, allowing wider participation.

Admission guidelines

Applicants can now choose schools within 1 km, between 1–3 km, and beyond 3 km from their residence. Parents can also edit submitted forms using the ‘unconfirm’ option on the portal.

Authorities have advised applicants to correct errors promptly, as incorrect information may lead to cancellation of admission. Submission of incomplete documents during verification will also result in disqualification, even if selected in the lottery.

Parents must ensure accurate address details and Google location coordinates before final submission, as certain details like the child’s date of birth cannot be changed later. Multiple applications for the same child will lead to automatic disqualification.

For residence proof, only passbooks issued by nationalised banks will be accepted. In the case of children with disabilities, a valid certificate confirming at least 40% disability is mandatory.

The lottery draw was broadcast live, and the school-wise selection list has been released. Parents are advised to regularly check the official RTE portal for further updates on admission procedures.
