Powerball jackpot hits $87M for Monday drawing: What to know

The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $87 million, or $39.7 million in cash, ahead of Monday’s April 20 drawing after no one won the top prize on Saturday, April 18.

Powerball has produced nearly 200 jackpot winners since launching in 1992, including a $231 million win in Delaware on April 6, the third jackpot hit of 2026.

The biggest lottery jackpot in U.S. history remains the $2.04 billion Powerball prize, which was won by Edwin Castro in California in 2022.

Before you buy a ticket or check your numbers, here’s what you need to know about Monday night’s drawing.

The winning numbers for the Monday, April 20, Powerball drawing are: 9, 17, 36, 47, 64, and the Powerball is 26. The “Power Play” multiplier is 3x.

Did anyone win the Powerball jackpot?

No one won the Powerball jackpot or the Match 5 + Power Play $2 million prize, but one lucky player in Missouri won the Match 5 $1 million prize.

Do you have to be a U.S. citizen or resident to play Powerball?

How to play Powerball

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are available at convenience stores, gas stations and grocery stores. Some states also allow online purchases.

Players choose five white balls (1–69) and one red Powerball (1–26). A $1 Power Play option can multiply non‑jackpot winnings by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x.

Players can also select Quick Pick, which lets the computer choose numbers at random.

To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.

Drawings are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. If no one wins, the jackpot continues to grow.
