Powerball jackpot climbs to $786M for Wednesday drawing

SOUTH CAROLINA (WPDE) — Powerball’s summer jackpot continues to grow, with an estimated $786 million up for grabs in Wednesday night’s drawing.
The jackpot ranks as the ninth-largest in Powerball history and is the biggest prize offered in more than seven months.

Lottery officials said nearly 19,000 South Carolina players won prizes in Monday night’s drawing, including one player who won $100,000.
South Carolinians have until 9:59 p.m. Wednesday to purchase $2 tickets before the drawing at 10:59 p.m.
The odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
