Powerball is a popular lottery game around the U.S. but winning isn’t easy.
An estimated $1.25 billion is up for grabs on the next Powerball drawing, which takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
The whopping jackpot, which has a cash value of $571.2 million, is the sixth largest in Powerball history, and all you have to do is get all six numbers correct — a 1 in 292.2 million chance.
The jackpot increased after no one matched all numbers in the Dec. 15 drawing, though two people from Arizona and California won the Match 5 $1 million prize.

When is the next Powerball drawing?
The next drawing will take place at 9 p.m. MT/ 10 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Dec. 17.

In case you want some inspiration as you pick your numbers, the winning numbers on Dec. 15 were 23, 35, 59, 63, 68, and the Powerball was 2.
How much are Powerball tickets now?
Powerball costs $2 to play. For an additional $1 per play, the Power Play feature can multiply non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, five or 10 times.
Can I buy Powerball tickets online?
Some lotteries sell Powerball tickets online, but the service is only available to residents of that jurisdiction, according to the Powerball website. The sale of Powerball tickets over the internet or by mail across jurisdictional borders is restricted. Lotteries may refuse to pay out prize money on Powerball tickets purchased on any website other than their own.
