Old lottery numbers earn Ohio man a $25,417 prize – UPI.com

June 29 (UPI) — An Ohio man found an old, non-winning lottery ticket in his car and decided to give the numbers another shot — a decision that earned him $25,417.

The Cleveland man told Ohio Lottery officials he had given up on his old Pick 5 numbers after they failed to produce a winning ticket, but he recently found an old ticket in the glove compartment of his car and decided to give the digits another chance.

The numbers, 3-2-5-5-8, ended up earning him $25,417 in the May 8 drawing — $25,000 for a 50-cent bet, and $417 for a 60-way backup.

He bought the winning ticket at Mike’s Convenient Food Mart on South Taylor Road in Cleveland.
