Man misses ‘so many’ calls after winning entire $80 million Powerball jackpot
A Melbourne man won the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot last night, making him Victoria‘s biggest ever lottery winner.
The Altona retiree found his phone with “so many missed calls” – officials from The Lott said when they called the phone it went straight to voicemail but because his message bank was full they kept ringing to try to reach him.
“I can’t believe it. Oh my God. I can’t stop crying,” the unnamed man said when he eventually answered, according to The Lott.

“If you’ve got good news for me then it couldn’t have come at a better time.
“My family has been through a rough trot lately and this is just the best news.”
The man said he had “never won anything in my life, let alone $80 million”.
He said he would spend his new fortune on a getaway and some “peace and quiet”.
“I haven’t been to Italy since I’ve been 10 years old, and I have wanted to go back ever since,” he said, according to The Lott.
“You have changed my life.”
