Lotto player misses out on €3.3m jackpot by one number but still bags huge prize

The winning numbers for Saturday night’s Irish Lotto draw are in – and while there was no outright winner of the €3,347,532 jackpot, the draw delivered a heart stopping twist for one player who came agonisingly close
A Lotto player came agonisingly close to winning Saturday night’s bumper Lotto jackpot, missing out on the €3.3 million top prize by a single number.
The punter matched five numbers plus the bonus number in tonight’s main Lotto draw, meaning they were just one correct number away from winning the €3,347,532 jackpot up for grabs and becoming Ireland’s newest millionaire.
Despite the heartstopping twist, the player still scooped a life-changing consolation prize of €123,836 for matching five of the six main numbers, plus the bonus.
The winning numbers in Saturday’s (August 29) Lotto draw were; 17, 21, 33, 35, 38, 47 and the Bonus was 13.
In total, over 77,000 players won prizes in Saturday’s Lotto and Lotto Plus games.
In the Lotto Plus 1 draw, where there was a jackpot of €1 million up for grabs, the numbers to look out for are: 14, 16, 24, 32, 43, 47 and the Bonus is 42.
The jackpot in this draw went unclaimed, although 14 players did match five correct numbers to win €500 each.
Meanwhile the top prize of €250,000 in the the Lotto Plus 2 also went unclaimed. The numbers drawn were: 2, 10, 18, 28, 30, 36 and the Bonus was 21.
There were also 78 winners of the Raffle Prize, with each player receiving €500. The winning raffle number was 8403.
The National Lottery is urging players across Ireland to check their tickets to see if they are among the 77,000 people who won prizes in Saturday’s Lotto and Lotto Plus games.
The winner of the Match 5 + Bonus prize of €123,836 is urged to sign the back of their ticket and contact the National Lottery Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for the prize to be claimed.
If you hold a winning ticket that you bought in a shop, you must claim your prize within 90 days of the applicable draw date.
