‘Haven’t stopped crying’: Aussie’s lotto win

A Sydney woman “hasn’t stopped crying” after realising she held the winning ticket to the $1.8m Saturday Lotto jackpot.

A pair of NSW winners – including a Merrylands woman – held two of the 11 Division One winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4687, drawn on Saturday.

Each winner pocketed $1,818,181.82.

While the Merrylands woman wasted no time popping a bottle of bubbly with her husband after discovering her win, the other player – from Belmore, southwest of Sydney’s CBD – wasn’t aware of their big win.

The Belmore woman has since come forward after checking her ticket on Sunday morning.

“I woke up really early on Sunday morning. It was 4am and I couldn’t go back to sleep, so I checked the lotto results,” she told The Lott.

“That’s when I saw I’d won $1.8 million!”

She said she could not help her overflowing emotions after learning about the win.

“I haven’t stopped crying. I’ve never had so much money in my life!” she said.

The Belmore resident said she had previously only pocketed small wins, and couldn’t believe her eyes.

“I had to check it four times. I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

“I won $100 last year, and I thought, ‘Well, that’s my luck used after 40 years of playing’.”

The woman purchased her wining ticket at Belmore Newsagency, but because she had no registered player account, lottery officials had no way of contacting her about the win.

“Funnily enough, I used to go to a different newsagency but never had any wins so I just recently started going to the Belmore Newsagency instead,” the woman said.

The winner, who had only rented properties, said she can now buy herself a unit.

“I’d love to also go to the Greek islands for a holiday,” she added.

The team at Belmore Newsagency were thrilled by the woman’s win.

“It’s amazing how one ticket can change someone’s life,” they said.

“Congratulations to the winner and all the best on your future endeavours.”

Before the mystery winner was tracked down, TheLott spokesman Khat McIntyre said she couldn’t wait to unite Belmore’s latest division one winner with their prize.

“Our mystery winner is likely oblivious to the fact they won $1.8 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw,” she said.

“We’ve already shared the life-changing news with the Merrylands winner, and we’re ready to do the same with this mystery Belmore player.

Upon hearing news of her win, the Merrylands woman said she celebrated with a bottle of champagne.

“When I checked my ticket on Sunday morning, I couldn’t even process it,” she said.

“We had a bottle of bubbles to celebrate but other than that, we’ve just been going on with our daily life because it’s barely sunk in.

“I don’t always play, just when I see a big jackpot or have a bit of a win on an old ticket.

“Something we’ve always wanted to do is buy a house and now we can! It’s incredible.

“Thank you so much!”

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4671 on 25 April 2026 were 45, 12, 17, 3, 11 and 14, while the supplementary numbers were 32 and 21.

Across Australia, there were 11 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4687 – four in New South Wales, three in Western Australia, two in Victoria and one each in Queensland and South Australia.
