Glasgow shop named one of just 10 ‘gold standard’ National Lottery retailers

Go Local on Dumbarton Road was selected as one of just 10 “gold standard” stores across Britain
The shop was selected from more than 43,000 retailers for its support of the National Lottery and its role in the community.
To celebrate, it will receive 500 limited-edition ‘Scratch-coin’ tokens as part of a UK-wide giveaway marking 30 years of National Lottery scratchcards.
The coins, designed by acclaimed artist Hattie Stewart, will be given away with any National Lottery Scratchcard purchase starting Saturday, May 23, on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.
Stewart, known for collaborations with brands like Adidas, Nike and Gucci, described the coin as “fun, celebratory and full of personality”.
She said: “Scratching is such a satisfying ritual.
“It’s about anticipation, excitement and that little moment of hope.
“I love that even now, people get creative with it when they don’t have a coin to hand, using keys, cards, rings, even their fingernails, but nothing quite beats doing it properly.
“I wanted the coin to feel fun, celebratory and full of personality.”

The Scratch-coin giveaway also celebrates the launch of the new ‘£300,000 Birthday’ scratchcard, priced at £2, which offers players a one in 3.33 chance of winning a prize and a top reward of £300,000.
Jessica Barclay, head of scratchcards at National Lottery operator Allwyn, said: “A huge congratulations to Nathalie and the team at Go Local.
“Their commitment to The National Lottery, and the important role they play in their local community, makes them a true standout – so it’s only fitting they are part of this special celebration.
“Every time you buy a National Lottery draw game or Scratchcard, not only are you playing for a chance to win a life-changing prize, but you’re also helping to raise more than £33m a week for National Lottery Good Causes – so it really is a win-win.”
