Fraser Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize Using Numbers From Zoltar-Inspired Numbers

Stephen Huesgen, 56, won $1 million. The Fraser resident bought his ticket online at MichiganLottery.com for the April 22 drawing. His winning numbers came from a Zoltar fortune-teller machine he encountered in Las Vegas three decades ago.

His ticket matched all five white balls: 24, 29, 32, 49, and 63. Huesgen has stuck with these same numbers on every lottery game since that Vegas trip 30 years back.

“On my fortune, there was a set of lucky numbers,” Huesgen said per Michigan Lottery Connect. “So I have been playing those numbers on lottery games ever since.”

The morning after the drawing, he discovered his win. An email from the state’s lottery system alerted him.

“I yelled to my wife: ‘Is this real?’ I don’t think this is going to fully hit me until I cash the check,” Huesgen said.

Huesgen plans to spend his winnings on practical matters. His house and car will be paid off. Then he’ll take a vacation. The rest goes toward retirement savings.

Each Powerball ticket costs $2. Players can buy them in 45 states, plus Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Drawings occur three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
