The Ohio Lottery says an Akron man used his birthday − 3-2-5-5-8 − as his numbers in the May 8 Pick 5 evening drawing and won.
His 50-cent bet was worth some $25,417.
Lottery officials say the Akron resident said he just started playing those numbers based on his birthday this year.
After mandatory state and federal taxes, the winner will receive $18,617.95.
He reportedly plans to save the winnings for a rainy day.
The winning ticket was sold at the Firestone Mini Mart on Aster Avenue.
