$50,000 Powerball Winner Will Expire in Less Than a Week

Today’s article is still about a big win, but it’s not a recent win. It’s a Powerball win from February 11, 2026. That $50,000 Powerball winner will expire on Monday if it’s not claimed.
Currently Two Big Win Tickets Remain Unclaimed in Louisiana
The $50,000 winner is one of two “big win” lottery tickets that are within 30 days of expiration. The other ticket is a Mega Millions winner for $20,000. The ticket holder in that case has until September 2, 2026, to claim their winnings.
Should either of these two tickets “expire,” that is actually good news for those of us who didn’t win. The Louisiana Lottery policy is to take winnings from expired tickets and reinvest those in more player experiences. The way the lottery does that is by increasing the payouts on scratch-off tickets, adding second-chance drawings, and using the funds for special player promotions.

The Powerball winner that will expire on August 10, 2026, was purchased in Marrero, LA. It was picked up at the Discount Depot on the Westbank Expressway. The numbers that were selected in that drawing on February 11, 2026, were:

If you are holding either of those tickets, you will want to make sure you sign the back of that ticket for security purposes and then contact your nearest Louisiana Lottery office to arrange payment of your prizes.
No big wins in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing last night. Here is the Mega Millions drawing for August 4, 2026. There was no jackpot winner. The annuitized jackpot will climb to an estimated $70 million for Friday’s drawing.

The largest prize won by a Louisiana-sold ticket in Tuesday’s Mega Millions game was a $1,500 winner; there was also a $1,000 winner in last night’s drawing. The Louisiana Lottery says about 3,000 players won at least something in Tuesday’s Mega Millions game.
