A Monsey woman has claimed a life-changing prize after winning the New York Lottery’s “Set for Life” scratch-off jackpot with a ticket purchased in Spring Valley.
Henya Fried recently claimed the top prize on the game, which offers winners the choice of receiving $5,000 a week for life or a one-time lump-sum payment of approximately $3.46 million before taxes. According to documents from the New York State Lottery, the annuity option pays $260,000 annually before taxes for 20 years, with payments continuing beyond 20 years if the winner is still living.
Mrs. Fried is the wife of well-known baal chesed Meir Fried, the Customer Service Manager at Rockland Kosher Supermarket.
