Peterborough couple ‘shell-shocked’ after huge EuroMillions win makes them overnight millionaires

The couple – who have not been named – won £1 million on the National Lottery after matching their EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker code in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday, April 21.

They said: “We logged into our online account and really couldn’t believe it! We felt shell-shocked – the most we have ever won before that was about £10!”

Part of their six-figure winnings will now be used to pay for an extension on their house.

Kathy Garrett, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the Peterborough-based prize winners, saying: “Congratulations to our lucky couple.

“It just goes to show that perseverance pays, and that you’ve got to be in it to win it!”

Europe‘s biggest rolling-jackpot lottery game, the EuroMillions has been played in the UK since 2004.
