$78 Million Lottery Ticket Remains Unclaimed With Deadline Nearing

AUSTIN, TX — A winning Lotto Texas ticket worth an estimated $78 million remains unclaimed just weeks before its expiration deadline.

The ticket, purchased at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle in Brownsville for the Nov. 15, 2025 drawing, matched all six winning numbers — 7, 17, 23, 28, 39 and 48 — but has yet to be presented for validation.

The prize will expire at 5 p.m. May 14 if no claimant comes forward.

The ticket holder selected the cash value option at the time of purchase and would receive $43,757,223.10 before taxes.

To claim the prize, the winner must contact the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment and present the ticket in person at its Austin headquarters.

Under Texas law, lottery prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date. After that period, unclaimed winnings are forfeited and returned to the state for use in programs authorized by the Legislature. Extensions may apply for certain military personnel.

Lotto Texas requires players to pick six numbers from 1 to 54, with drawings held three times a week. The game also offers an add-on feature that can increase non-jackpot winnings.

Since its first ticket sale in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated more than $42 billion in revenue for the state and contributed billions to public education and veterans’ programs, according to agency data.
