$650k Lucky Day Lotto ticket sold in Naperville

CHICAGO — A pair of lucky Illinois Lottery players are rolling into the weekend more than half a million dollars richer after they struck it big during a Wednesday evening drawing.

The big winners won the massive prizes by playing Lucky Day Lotto. They both ended up matching all five numbers during Wednesday evening’s drawing, snagging $650,000 each.

The winning numbers were 4, 18, 19, 27 and 33, according to officials.

Officials from the Illinois Lottery said one of the big winners purchased their ticket online, while the second picked up their ticket at a convenience store in Naperville.

As a bonus for selling the winning ticket, the Convenient Food Mart, located at 501 West 87th Street in Naperville, will receive a $6,500 bonus, equal to 1% of the prize amount.

According to TaxAct’s Lottery Tax Calculator, the lucky players will end up taking home about $461,825, which equals out to about $156,000 in federal taxes and $32,175 in state taxes.

Lucky Day Lotto, which is exclusively sold in Illinois, draws twice a day, at 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m., and tickets can be purchased in-store, online, or on the Illinois Lottery app.

Lucky Day Lotto costs $1 per game and players have a 1 in 12 chance of winning a prize, but jackpot odds are much higher at 1 in 1,221,759. For $1 extra, players can also add EZmatch numbers to their ticket for a chance to claim an extra prize.

Illinois Lottery winners have one year from the date of winning to claim their prizes and lottery officials advise players to write their names on the backs of winning tickets and keep them in a safe place until they are ready to claim their prizes.
