$1M Powerball prize-winning ticket sold in EC
A $1 million Powerball prize-winning ticket from last night’s drawing was sold in Elizabeth City.
The winner bought the lucky $2 Powerball ticket from the Hop-In Citgo on North Road Street, according to the N.C. Education Lottery.
The ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls to win $1 million. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 11.6 million. The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize.
Wednesday’s drawing also produced three $50,000 prizes, including one ticket sold at the Park N Shop on Weeksville Road. The other two tickets were sold at a Harris Teeter in Charlotte and at Happy Smoke in New Bern.
The winning Powerball ticket for about $1 billion was sold in Illinois.
The Powerball jackpot now sits at $20 million with a cash value at $8.7 million. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
