Winning Millionaire for Life lottery ticket bought at Upstate NY Price Chopper

A lottery ticket sold in Upstate New York has given someone the top prize in the Millionaire for Life game, becoming just the second person nationwide to secure the $1 million-a-year-for-life jackpot.
The New York Lottery announced the winning ticket for Thursday’s drawing was sold at a Price Chopper in Richfield Springs, Otsego County.
The ticket matched all six numbers: 3, 15, 16, 24, 28 and Millionaire Ball 4.

The top prize is payable as a for-life annuity or a one-time lump sum payment of $18 million.
This marks only the second top prize win since Millionaire for Life launched in February, replacing Cash4Life. The first jackpot winner was a player in Ohio who won during the April 27 drawing.
Players purchase tickets for $5 each and select five numbers from 1 to 58, plus one Millionaire Ball number from 1 to 5. The game features daily drawings and is currently offered in 31 jurisdictions.
The May 21 drawing also produced a Match 5 ticket sold in Michigan that won $100,000 a year for life.
A portion of every Millionaire for Life ticket sold supports programs in the jurisdiction where the ticket was purchased. Winning tickets expire one year from the date of the drawing.
