Will anyone claim the $78 million Lotto ticket before it expires?

AUSTIN, Texas – A Lotto Texas jackpot worth an estimated $78 million is just weeks away from expiring, and the Texas Lottery is still waiting for the winner to come forward.
The winning ticket was purchased for the November 15, 2025 drawing at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle, located at 7066 Padre Island Highway in Brownsville. The ticket holder has until 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, to claim the prize at the Texas Lottery headquarters in Austin.
The player-selected numbers for the drawing were 7-17-23-28-39-48. Because the cash value option was selected at the time of purchase, the winner is eligible for a lump-sum payment of $43,757,223.10 before taxes.
To secure the windfall, the ticket holder must call the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment and present the ticket in person at 1801 Congress Ave. Under Texas law, draw game prizes expire 180 days after the drawing. While certain eligible military personnel may qualify for an extension, most prizes not claimed by the deadline revert to the state for programs authorized by the Texas Legislature.
Lotto Texas drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT. Players choose six numbers from one to 54, with the option to add the “Extra!” feature for an additional $1 to increase non-jackpot winnings.
