What does ‘Set for Life’ mean? A million bucks for Devon lotto scratch ticket winner
Brian Gillow of Devon asked his girlfriend what three matching ‘Set for Life’ symbols on his five-dollar lotto scratch ticket meant.
She gave him a million-dollar answer.
“I passed her the ticket, she read the back, and then told me,” the now area-millionaire from Devon, about 40 km south of Edmonton, said in a Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) news release Friday.
Gillow eventually scanned the ticket on his phone through the Lotto Spot app, confirming his newfound wealth. He claimed the jackpot April 14.
Now he plans to pay off his mortgage and take a trip to the East Coast with his girlfriend. Then he’ll maybe do some investing.
“That’s what I’m thinking so far, anyways,” said Gillow, who bought the winning ticket at Devon’s Yellow service station on Superior Street.
WCLC’s lottery games are available at retail locations and online under the Lotto Spot banner. Lotto Spot is WCLC’s primary public-facing brand for winner announcements, product news, and lottery sales both in-person and online.
